Blog 4 I have really enjoyed using twitter so far. It has been cool to see all of the different articles and things educators post about because that's not something that I would usually look st on twitter. A lot of them have been relevant to the topic of educational technology which has been cool. I have mostly been interacting with different educators or accounts that are geared towards education. This has been beneficial because it has allowed me to read and learn about different topics in the education field. Twitter might be helpful in my future career because it is a good tool to keep you up to speed on different issues and topics facing educators every day. It is also a way to connect with different people in your field that you otherwise might not be able to communicate with.  The digital divide is something that is prevalent in today's society. The digital divide affects student success because it can hinder those students without access to technology from accom...

Blog 3 There are many ELA standards. One standard that I feel most prepared to teach right now is the standard about finding the main idea of a reading passage. This is a skill that has been taught since the first day of kindergarten, and with my existing knowledge, I feel like I am prepared to teach this standard. A standard that I don't feel prepared to teach right now is the standard that deals with the structure of a reading passage. I feel like many of my classes have not really focused on the structure of reading passages, so I do not feel like I could accurately teach this standard to other students.  CPALMS has a lot of tools and resources in their educator toolkit. One of the resources is the Lesson Plan Development Initiative. This initiative works with teachers and educators all over the state to come up with original lesson plans to go along with the standards. I think that this resource is really helpful because it helps teachers know exactly what they need to t...

Blog 2 Microsoft Word is a program that many students and teachers utilize. As a student, I have used Microsoft Word for just about every class that I have taken. I usually use Word to write a lot of papers and complete assignments for classes. My teachers have used Word to create rubrics for assignments. They have also used Word to list out the directions for an assignment or to create a class syllabus.  My experience with copyright has only come when I am trying to cite a resource. For all of my papers, I have to cite where I got a resource from and who the author was so that I did not accidentally take credit for their work as my own. I have used fair use in an educational setting by accessing journal articles and images to be used in a project or an assignment only intended for use in the classroom. As a teacher, I would deal with the concepts by educating my students on copyright law and fair use. I would also be extra careful when designing a lesson to not infringe upo...

One thing that can influence teachers is that accessibility and ease that technology brings to the classroom. Nowadays, technology is very easy to access. It is a tool that can be very engaging if used in the proper way. Technology is also very easy to use for the most part. Students can easily use it to enhance their learning. Students are influenced by their teachers, peers, and the media to use technology. In today's society, technology is a part in nearly all aspects of our lives. We use technology at school for learning, at home for fun, and even use it to connect with others. All in all, there are many things that influence teachers and students alike to use technology. There are many ISTE standards that deal with technology. The educator standards include: learner, leader, citizen, collaborator, designer, facilitator, and analyst.
