Microsoft Word is a program that many students and teachers utilize. As a student, I have used Microsoft Word for just about every class that I have taken. I usually use Word to write a lot of papers and complete assignments for classes. My teachers have used Word to create rubrics for assignments. They have also used Word to list out the directions for an assignment or to create a class syllabus.

My experience with copyright has only come when I am trying to cite a resource. For all of my papers, I have to cite where I got a resource from and who the author was so that I did not accidentally take credit for their work as my own. I have used fair use in an educational setting by accessing journal articles and images to be used in a project or an assignment only intended for use in the classroom. As a teacher, I would deal with the concepts by educating my students on copyright law and fair use. I would also be extra careful when designing a lesson to not infringe upon copyright. I would teach my students how to effectively cite resources and teach them how to complete a project using the fair use and copyright laws. I also might use something like Turnitin to help me recognize when a student is potentially plagiarizing.

There are also several technology implementation issues that can arise in a classroom. One issue is that if academic honesty. As a teacher, I would really make sure to provide students with accurate and detailed information about plagiarizing. I also might include an activity that helps students recognize when they might be plagiarizing, even if it is not intentional. I could also use Turnitin to help me recognize plagiarism so I could deal with it. Another issue is cyber bullying. As a teacher, I could use my classroom to inform students and parents about this ongoing issue. I could also teach responsible use of technology in my classroom and try to prevent students from engaging in the act of cyber bulling. Lastly, another issue is the digital divide. As a teacher, I would make sure I knew that all of my students could readily access technology or the internet before I assigned homework that was heavily dependent on it. I could also provide an alternative assignment for students without access to technology to complete if I felt the lesson would be enhanced through the use of technology. I could also help those students without technology become aware of their resources including the school library, the public library, and even the computers inside of the classroom.

  1. It is great to take care of the students without access to technologies and help them to become aware of the resources. However, have you think about what to do next? Only being aware of the resources is not going to be enough.

By the way, this is what you need to write for blog 2 and what you should be writing about is blog 1. Please remember to write the blog 1 next week (:
