I have really enjoyed using twitter so far. It has been cool to see all of the different articles and things educators post about because that's not something that I would usually look st on twitter. A lot of them have been relevant to the topic of educational technology which has been cool. I have mostly been interacting with different educators or accounts that are geared towards education. This has been beneficial because it has allowed me to read and learn about different topics in the education field. Twitter might be helpful in my future career because it is a good tool to keep you up to speed on different issues and topics facing educators every day. It is also a way to connect with different people in your field that you otherwise might not be able to communicate with. 

The digital divide is something that is prevalent in today's society. The digital divide affects student success because it can hinder those students without access to technology from accomplishing what they need to. It also can provide an advantage to those students who do have access to technology. Some causes of the digital divide are low family income, living in a rural area without any internet access, or living in a home where parent and caregivers do not necessarily care about the children. As a classroom teacher, I will definitely experience the digital divide. I will have to be flexible and adaptable when assigning homework and will have to keep in mind the students who do not have access to technology. One way I could help these students without technology have more access to technology would be to plan a time during the school day for the students to go to the library and use the computers to complete an assignment. This would allow those students with no access to technology to be able to use it.

There are many academic softwares out there for students to use. One software is called Reading Skill Builder. This software tracks students' progress on different reading skills and gives them passages and questions to help build those skills. I would like to use this in my classroom by giving a few minutes each day for the students to use this software and improve their reading skills. Another software is Class Dojo. this software is cool because it really allows the teacher to interact with the students. The teacher can take attendance, assign points to students, and a lot more. One way I would like to use it in my classroom is for behavior. You can give points to students for being good and you can even give negative points to students who are being bad. This is a fun and interactive way for student to learn the class rules and procedures.
